Hello.I wrote a review 11 months ago.Little to nothing has changed. The teachers assign assessments almost every day, and you have atleast 1 hours of homeowork(honestly the minimum is like 2 hours). The teachers rarely ever take into consideration other classes, and most don’t care about you either. Some yell, scream, and are just so mean.We recently got back our normal catered lunches which is nice.Still, the technology policy is very strict(liek everything else), and honestly doesn’t work, because that just creates more ways to hide it.There are a wide variety of
clubs, but most of them are for upper schoolers.Speakingd them, they get so much freedom. They use their phones and no one cares. They have many fun activities and a student council.Dont forget the horrible admin wh weed out all the academically challenged kids through comps in middle school( just look at the attrition rates.Last year, 40 SENIORS GRADUATED.There are almost or nearly 200 kids in fifth grade.)Sorry for typos!

I loved that a few teachers genuinely cared about students and wanted to see them succeed in whatever they chose to pursue, whether it was in the arts or STEM field. The nice thing with BASIS is that they pay for all your AP exams. The downside was you had to take a minimum of 6 AP exams to graduate high school, which makes sense considering BASIS is very academically focused. However, the administration was the worst part. They do not care about the students or their well-being, only the numbers and ensuring that BASIS is a top school in the state and/or nation.

BASIS Tucson North is overall an amazing school, with so many opportunities for preparation for college. However, there seems to be a disconnect between the administration and students, which can lead to issues such as a strict technology policy that makes classes such as AP research much more difficult than they should be. Also, the school is great in terms of its STEM and history classes, in which the amazing teachers keep classes engaging and help students actually learn the material. I am so lucky to have been at BASIS for the past years as my school.
